Interested in Coach Training or Certification?

I would like to recommend to you the program for training and certification that is available through "The Coaching Center" at Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, Wisconsin.  The setting is beautiful and the training is First Class!  I am blessed to be one of the Coach Trainers for this program and am Co-Director of The Coaching Center and serve as the Coach Certification Coordinator.

The International Coach Federation (ICF) adheres to a form of coaching that honors the individual being coached as the expert in his/her life and work, believes that the person is creative, resourceful, and whole. Standing on this foundation, the coach's responsibility is to:

Discover, clarify, and align with what the individual wants to achieve
Encourage personal self-discovery
Elicit self-generated solutions and strategies
Hold the person being coached responsible and accountable

Ready to release your potential and the potential of others?

You are invited to explore the possibilities as you begin your journey to becoming a Certified Coach through our highly-acclaimed “Releasing Potential Coaching Series” – guiding you through a process from curiosity to certification – and all points in between!

So, what is coaching?

“Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximize their own performance. It is helping them learn rather than teaching them.” --Sir John Whitmore

Whether working with an individual or a group, coaches bring a variety of skills and models to each conversation:
  • active listening
  • encouragement and feedback
  • asking powerful questions which the individual, not the coach, answers
  • identifying barriers and clarifying with truth
  • supporting and partnering on the journey
  • coaching toward action steps
  • rejoicing as growth and results are realized

In a Christian context coaching allows individuals and teams to maximize the use of their spiritual gifts and talents. It is more than mentoring – mentoring is sharing with others what God has given you; coaching is helping others discover what God has given them!

The initial training comes in the “Introduction and Foundations of Coaching” sessions providing a solid foundation in the basic principles, theory and skills of coaching. This highly interactive event encompasses numerous ‘hands-on’ practice sessions, moving the participants from a five minute practice (on day one) to the ability to conduct a full 45-minute coaching session (on day three)!

Participants must have completed “Introduction and Foundations” and be actively coaching before moving to the Intermediate Level.

The Intermediate Level in the “Releasing Potential Coaching SeriesSM” provides the next level of coach training and professional growth in a variety of topics:

  • Team Coaching
  • Performance Coaching with Staff & Volunteers
  • Coaching the Discipling Relationship
  • Coaching Skills for the Mentor
  • Coaching for Leadership Growth in the Organization

Beginning in 2010 the “Releasing Potential Coaching SeriesSM” will be available as selected tele-classes.

Who leads the training?

The training is led by Jan Judd and Sandra Wimpelberg; both are Associate Certified Coaches (ACC) with the International Coach Federation (ICF) and Co-Directors of The Coaching Center. Jan and Sandra work with individuals and groups in many fields and have also served as Lead Coaches for the “Center for Excellence in Congregational Leadership” (CECLSM) at Green Lake.

Next Coach Training is scheduled for November 1, 2010 through November 4, 2010
